So I’ve been wanting to do another post since I redesigned my blog. Actually writing something inspired me to pick back up one of my WIP and I’ve been having so much fun with it. But yeah, with that and working full time I still haven’t finished my current read so not really had anything to write about. Then I saw this WWW trend today and I thought I’d give it a go!

What am I currently reading?
So, my main read at the moment is Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor. After loving the first book I have mixed feelings about the second and third. It keeps picking up but then slowing down again. I only have another 200 pages left so I’m hoping to finish this later on this week.

I’ve also got a couple of audible reads on the go. I tend to use this for rereads and listen irregularly. I was a lot better at getting through these before lockdown when I spent hours each day driving. So I’ve almost finished my reread of Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin (I want to finish this before Blood & Honey is released) and I’m at the beginning of my reread of The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levensellar which was one of my favourite reads of the year so far!
What did I recently finish reading?
So, I finished The Love Interest by Cale Dietrich last week and loved it. You can find my review here. It was such a quick read and it was definitely what I needed.

I think I also finished The Kingdom of Copper in the last week or so. This book started off a bit slow for me. I’ve now figured out I have issues with second books when the first book has left the characters in a bad place, mainly because they spend ages stuck in a bad situation and that really irritates me. I also felt like this book, being set 5 years after the first, almost felt like a fresh start so I had to get to know the characters all over again. Saying that the last half was amazing and I read it in a single sitting. I was really tempted to give it 5* but I feel like I can’t if I really struggled with the start.
What am I reading next?
Ah, the question to which the answer changes daily! So I have to read something that I predict will be 5* for Disneyreadathon. I’m mulling over a few options such as The Wrath and the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh, Air Awakens by Elise Kova, and The Iron King by Julie Kagawa.

After that I’ll be picking up A Heart so Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer which I’m super nervous about reading. I’ve heard some things about Rhen and I’m hoping he doesn’t turn into a Tamlin type character.
Let me know your answers below! And let me know if you enjoyed any of my potential next reads – might help me make up my mind!
Thanks for the insight on Taylor’s series. I wasn’t a big fan of the first book and if you felt the later two were a rollercoaster, I’m not getting a desire to change my mind on the series. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

I think if I’d felt the way I have about the second and third with the first I would have DNF’D long ago

All three of your options for what to read next are great choices – you can’t go wrong!

I chose air awakens in the end! I went with the shortest as I couldn’t decide 😂
