September Wrap Up

I’ve never done a monthly wrap up on my blog before, but this has been such a good reading month I wanted to go back over it! I’ll include my rating and a brief summary of my thoughts!

  1. Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa 5*

I absolutely loved Rhapsodic and its definitely started a new obsession. I’ve already started an audiobook reread. If you haven’t picked this up yet you definitely should soon

2. Newcomer by Emilia Zeeland 4.5*

Another great read! This actually came out on the 19th September and the next book is coming out in the next few months so if you do read it now the cliff-hanger won’t kill you for too long!

3. Serpent and Dove by Shelby Mahurin 5*

This was an audiobook reread in preparation for Blood and Honey. I really enjoyed it again and am looking forward to picking up Blood and Honey when my fairyloot box arrives!

4. Valiant by Holly Black 3.5*

I don’t have much to say about this. It was disappointing. I’m going to read the last of the modern faerie tales but at this point it’s because they’re short and I want to colour in that series as finished in my bullet journal.

5. Shielded by Kaylynn Flanders 4.5*

I’m really looking forward to the second book actually. If you’re going to read this, I’d say stick with it until half way through. The second half of the book is vastly different to the first and so much better!

6. A Strange Hymn by Laura Thalassa 4.5*

Not quite so good as the first book but I still couldn’t put this book down. I just love Desmond and Callie.

7. Dark Harmony by Laura Thalassa 5*

An amazing end to the series! Please just go and read it. This satisfied everything I want in a series and reminded me so much of ACOTAR.

8. Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron 4*

This was an enjoyable read that deals with some super important topics. The bookclub I read this with adored it, I wouldn’t go that far but if you’re into retellings this is a very novel approach!

9. The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levensellar 5*

Another amazing audiobook reread! All of my five star reads this year have been amazing but this one is definitely coming out near the top. The audiobook was addictive.

10. The Other Side of the Sky by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner 4.5*

This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I didn’t love it as much as some of the books I’ve read this month but I think that’s because I found the start a bit slow. I’m eagerly anticipating the sequel!

11. The Wrath and The Dawn by Renée Ahdieh 5*

A surprising final read to end the month with (review incoming)! I absolutely adored this book and it is painful that I have to wait another day for the second to be delivered. It’s been hanging around my next to read for months and I’m so glad I finally made the decision to read it.

I honestly have not had such a good reading month in over a year! I thought last month was a fluke, but I did super well this month, even with a lull where I didn’t feel like reading much during the last couple of weeks! Any of these on your TBR or did you feel different to me?
